server is not responding

#2002 – The server is not responding (or the local MySQL server’s socket is not correctly configured)
The above error is pretty much common and is due to the MySQL socket, mysql.sock not being configured correctly at the server.

Login to your server as root and then just type and execute,

“ln -s /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock /tmp/”

“/etc/rc.d/init.d/mysql restart”

and the error will be gone.

If in case the above is not fixing the issue. also please try “/scripts/mysqlup –force”.

  1. This is extremely good. I was surprised to find this info so well put together, definitely about to post this on facebook so the husband can see it. Cheers!
